That's strange, this is on the latest version 1.3.1.1?
You're right, there is a bug in there. Thankfully they're not gone, just hidden from view. There'll be a fix up shortly.
Run Help->Check For Updates and the missing patterns should be fixed as well as the white boxes that are showing up. Thanks for reporting the bug, It's surprising nobody else has reported it yet. I guess too many people using it for 3d printing and not foam builds anymore.
